Our September Mentorship Meal will be hosted by Peter Nosco, professor of Asian Studies at UBC!
Peter and his partner Lila will provide us with a delicious home-cooked meal in their on-campus home, and we'll get to ask Peter questions about his faith and vocation, and how these two paths intertwine.

Peter Nosco is Professor of Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia. A specialist in the intellectual and social history of early modern Japan, Nosco has published work on several Japan-related topics: Confucianism; nativism or kokugaku; values and identity; individuality ; underground Buddhist and Christian movements; civil society; and even a translation of short stories by Ihara Saikaku. Apart from his work on Japan, Nosco has also published work on intramural dissent in religious and intellectual traditions (co-edited with Simone Chambers, Dissent on Core Beliefs: Religious and Secular Perspectives). He is a member of University Hill Congregation.
